Are there any side effects to drinking yerba mate?

Are there any side effects to drinking the herbal tea called yerba mate? Will it interact with medicines?

No reported side effects other than: “Users report a mental state of wakefulness, focus and alertness reminiscent of most stimulants”.   It should be no different than coffee or tea as far as interactions go.

You should consult with your doctor if you are taking a prescribed medicine that interact with caffeine or other stimulants.
